A Michigan based art center hosted a one of its kind of a fundraising event for children's art.

Called as the “Wurst Challenge”, the contest pitted twelve participants with big appetites against 20-foot-long bratwursts that weigh close to 6 pounds.

Hundreds of audience turned out to see the Wurst Challenge that raised about $7,000 for the FLY Children's Art Center.

Jesse Kranyak, the co-owner of The Wurst Bar, said he was super excited to host the event.

His restaurant contributed the bratwursts, two vegetarian and the others pork and beef mixes. New Holland Brewing Co. donated a keg. Blogger Mark Maynard helped organize.

The proceeds from the event has been given to the FLY's Creativity Lab in Ypsilanti (ihp-sih-LAN'-tee), a city of 19,000 that's home to Eastern Michigan University.
