Xiaomi’s 17T series is set to be released in certain global regions on Thursday. At the same time, the technology company will introduce the basic version in India at the beginning of next month. A special website for the phone's launch has just gone live in India. This site has now been updated with additional information about the Xiaomi 17T, such as its processor and battery size. The Xiaomi 17T will function with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series processor. This indicates that both devices in the Xiaomi 17T series will use MediaTek chips rather than the 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip that powers other devices in the Xiaomi 17 range. The specific website for the Xiaomi 17T has been refreshed to show that the phone will run on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor. This particular chip is also found in the Redmi Turbo 5, which is confirmed to launch in the region soon.
In addition, the company has indicated that the Xiaomi 17T will have a 6,500mAh silicon carbon battery and will support 67W wired fast charging through a USB Type-C port. The screen is said to come with TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, Circadian Friendly, and Intelligent Eye Care certifications. The phone will feature a punch-hole design for the front camera. This announcement follows the declaration that the Xiaomi 17T Pro will be powered by the high-end octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, manufactured using a 3nm process. The Pro version will also be equipped with a 7,000mAh silicon carbon battery. The company states that its smartphone will allow for up to 9.5 hours of uninterrupted video recording with a single charge. The Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T are set to debut globally on May 28. One week after this global launch, the standard Xiaomi 17T will be revealed in India, on June 4. The device will be available for sale in the country through Amazon and the Xiaomi India online shop. It will also include a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, with a telephoto lens in the back, enabling 5x optical zoom, up to 10x “optical quality” zoom, and 120x digital zoom.
