Ukraine Agrees to Hold Talks with Russia

After Russia declared war on Ukraine, the country defended well. Russia tried hard to conquer the country's capital Kyiv. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to hold talks with Russia without any pre-conditions. Even after this, Russian President Vladimir Putin raised the tension by placing his nuclear forces on alert. Volodymyr Zelensky posted "We agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the Russian delegation without preconditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River". The United Nations Security Council will hold a special emergency meeting today to discuss about the ongoing crisis and to hold Russia accountable for the violations.

During the procedural vote, 11 countries voted in favor. India, UAE and China stood away from voting and Russia voted against the resolution. As per the reports from the Interior Ministry of Ukraine, 352 civilians including 14 children have been killed during the war. 1684 people have been injured and 116 children are wounded. The government of Ukraine did not reveal the details of the casualties of its armed forces. Russia too did not announce the information of the troops injured or deceased. The Indian government arranged special flights to bring back the Indian students and professionals residing in Ukraine. The United States and NATO condemned Russia's order to put his nuclear forces on high alert. USA called it unacceptable and dangerous.
