India started the batting with a overnight score of 462/8 and just added 3 runs to the earlier one as India lost remaining 2 wickets in the beginning only. Australia started its second innings aggressively, openers David Warner (40) and Chris Rogers (69) played to lead Australia towards winning. At a stage Australia were not comfort to score more because Indian bowlers tightened the game and none have scored more runs other than Shuan Marsh (62*), Ryan Harris is on crease at day ending with 8 runs.

Rain interrupted the game after lunch for about 85 minutes. Australia have 3 wickets in hand and in-form Shaun Marsh on crease to score high. Indian bowling department doing well as Ishanth shined with 2/49 and Ashwin (2/56) taken crucial wickets of openers David Warner and Chris Rogers, and Umesh taken 2 and Shami one.

Only one day left in the Melbourne test, India have to play well to chase huge target of above 325. If India chases the target set by the Australia, it will become a record because in 1929 England beaten that score on last day at MCG. It may become possible as Virat Kohli and Rahane played aggressively in first innings of this match on Sunday.
