British actor Charlie Hunnam and American fashion model Dakota Johnson have hit gold, literally.

The actors have bagged high-profile roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Sam Taylor-Johnson's highly-anticipated, highly-buzzed celluloid adaptation of literary sensation “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

EL James, the author of the chart-smashing knee-trembler trilogy, apparently brought an end to the big speculation by tweeting the big news on her profile. She wrote: "I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey." A few minutes later, the novelist added: "The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey."

This news brings an end to the intense speculation over the starcast of the controversial adaptation.

Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith and granddaughter of Tippi Hedren, was already being tipped by various magazines for the role. The US magazine also soothsaid that Britain's Hunnam might star in the role of kinky billionaire business magnate Christian Grey.
