Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, recently underwent surgery at a hospital in Delhi due to a life-threatening brain bleed. In a statement, the foundation mentioned that Sadhguru is currently in recovery and making remarkable progress beyond what was expected. In a lighthearted video shared on Instagram, Sadhguru humorously mentions how the neurosurgeons at Apollo hospital attempted to find something within his skull but were unable to locate anything. He further adds that they eventually gave up and patched him up, leaving him with a patched-up skull but no damage. The statement explains that Sadhguru had been experiencing severe headaches for the past four weeks, yet he continued with his commitments and even conducted the nightlong MahaShivRatri celebrations on March 8, 2024. However, the headaches worsened on March 14 when he reached Delhi. Following the advice of Dr. Vinit Suri from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Sadhguru underwent an urgent MRI, which revealed a significant brain bleed. The report indicated both chronic and fresh bleeding leading up to the examination.

According to the statement, Sadhguru experienced a deterioration in his health on March 17. He reported weakness in his left leg, a worsening headache, and persistent vomiting. As a result, he was admitted to the hospital. A CT scan showed a significant increase in brain swelling and a dangerous shift of the brain to one side. In response, an emergency brain surgery was performed shortly after his admission to address the bleeding in his skull. Following the surgery, Sadhguru was successfully taken off the ventilator.
