All you Need to Know about India's first Indigenous Luxury Cruise Liner

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is all set to launch the country's first indigenous cruise liner today. IRCTC inked a deal with Cordelia Cruises which is a private firm that is operated by Waterways Leisure Tourism. This is the luxury travel offering for the public through IRCTC's tourism services. The cruise liner will offer travel for some of the popular domestic and international destinations like Goa, Lakshadweep, Kochi, Diu and Sri Lanka. Cordelia Cruises happens to be the country's premium cruise liner.

Cordelia Cruises comes with restaurants, bars, swimming pools, open theatres, gymnasium, kids play area and a lot of recreation activities. As per the early reviews, the luxury opportunities that are provided on Cordelia Cruises have been matching the standards of the international cruise liners. IRCTC is now opening spots from Mumbai to Goa, Kochi, Sri Lanka, Lakshadweep and Diu. The second phase of operations will start from May 2022 and the cruise will operate from Chennai and will sail to Colombo, Trincomalee, Galle and Jaffna. All the crew members of Cordelia Cruises are fully vaccinated and regular health checks are conducted along with hourly sanitization, social distancing and air filtration programs implemented.

The packages will start from Rs 19,000 and the bookings can be made through the IRCTC web portal. The popular tour plans for two nights include Mumbai - Goa - Mumbai, Mumbai - Diu - Mumbai and Mumbai - at sea - Mumbai. The three-night packages include Kochi - Lakshadweep - at sea - Mumbai. The four-night tour includes Mumbai - at sea - Lakshadweep - at sea - Mumbai and for five nights it sails from Goa - Mumbai - at sea Lakshadweep - at sea - Goa.
