Elon Musk’s SpaceX-owned brand Starlink is preparing to introduce its satellite internet service in India. Before this launch, the company has disclosed its monthly subscription prices for users in the nation, which appear to be quite high. Currently, Starlink has announced rates for home users, but has not yet shared information about plans for businesses. The Starlink India site indicates that the monthly fee for residential customers is Rs 8600. In addition to the monthly charges, there is a one-time fee for the equipment kit, which costs Rs 34,000. This kit will come with a Starlink satellite dish, a support stand, generation 3 routers, a 15-metre Starlink cable, a 1.5-metre AC cable, and a power supply.
The listing on the website noted that the subscription will offer users unlimited data and includes a 30-day free trial. It is also claimed to provide internet with minimal delays in all types of weather, boasting over 99.9% reliability. Starlink is anticipated to announce pricing for business users in the next few weeks as the official launch of services is expected to take place in 2026. Additionally, Starlink is establishing a base of operations in Bengaluru and a commercial center in Mumbai. In October, the firm also posted job vacancies on LinkedIn for positions such as Payments Manager, Accounting Manager, Senior Treasury Analyst, and Tax Manager. At this time, Starlink's availability map still indicates that “regulatory approvals are pending”; however, it has obtained the necessary licenses from both the Indian Department of Telecommunications and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre.
